Chandigarh, which received 5.7 mm of rain during the day, recorded a high of 33.1 deg C, down four notches, the MeT said here.
Ambala, too, received light rains and the maximum temperature settled at 33.8 deg C, down three degrees.
However, Hisar and Bhiwani recorded respective highs of 41.1 deg C and 40.6 deg C.
Ludhiana and Patiala in Punjab, which were lashed by rains, recorded below normal maximums of 31.6 deg C and 33.8 deg C.
The MeT has forecast moderate to rather heavy rain or thunder shower would occur at a few places in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days.
