NDMC Vice Chairman Karan Singh Tanwar today alleged that a temple has been sealed in Cantonment area in the national capital by some Army officials and sought the intervention of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
"The temple in Gopinath Bazaar was built 100 years ago by residents and the management is done by civilians. However, last week, a few officials of the army came and sealed the temple, the donation box and asked the devotees to leave the premises or face eviction," Tanwar told reporters.
"This is an attempt by them to take over the management of the temple. I have taken an appointment with Manohar Parrikar next week and I will raise the issue with him," he said.
