A 50-bedded temporary night shelter for relatives of patients admitted at the Lady Hardinge medical college hospital here has been created by paramilitary CISF.
The initiative has been launched by the wives welfare association of the force keeping in mind the prevailing cold weather conditions and the dearth of such free facilities near hospitals.
The tented 'rain basera' (night shelter camp) will have separate enclosures for men and women assistants of patients, a Central Industrial Security Force spokesperson said.
"The shelters have mattresses, bed covers, pillows and quilts for the needy people recommended by the authorities of the said hospital. Electricity and drinking water facility have been made available in the camp.
"Tea and biscuits will be served in the morning hours and the camp will be under the supervision of senior officers," he said.
The camp was inaugurated by the President of the wives welfare association of the force 'Sanrakshika' Gunita Singh and Dr Atul Murari, Director of the LHMC and Associated hospitals.
A similar camp was established by the force at LNJP hospital earlier this month.
CISF secures some of the vital installations in the aerospace and nuclear domain along with the Delhi Metro and government buildings.
