Temps hover close to normal in Punjab, Haryana

Temperatures hovered close to the normal limits at most places in Punjab and Haryana with Amritsar being the coldest in the two states, the MeT office said today.
Amritsar recorded 4 degrees Celsius, one notch below the normal. Bathinda and Adampur recorded 4.5 degrees Celsius and 4.6 degrees Celsius, respectively, it said.
However, Ludhiana and Patiala registered temperatures above the normal at 10.9 degrees Celsius and 11.2 degrees Celsius.
Gurdaspur recorded a low of 7.8 degrees Celsius while Halwara's minimum settled at 8.1 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh, the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a low of 11 degrees Celsius, up three notches against the normal limit.
In Haryana, Hisar and Sirsa were the coldest places recording minimum temperatures of 7.2 degrees Celsius and 7.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
Ambala recorded a low of 12.3 degrees Celsius, up four notches against the normal, while Karnal's minimum settled at 8.8 degrees Celsius.
Narnaul recorded 10.4 degrees Celsius, Rohtak 12.5 degrees Celsius and Bhiwani 10 degrees Celsius.
