Ten persons held for various offences

City police today arrested ten persons who were allegedly working for four different gangs involved into burglary and circulation of fake currency, a senior official said.
All the arrests were made simultaneously by different police teams.
Police recovered 263 gms of gold, 265 gms of silver jewellery, 62 sewing machines and Rs 6.2 lakh in cash from them, besides two air conditioning units, an Alto car, two motorcycles, two mobile phones and fake currency notes with the face value of Rs 25,500 from these gang members.
"In the first case, we arrested Y Srinivasa Rao (28) of MVP Colony, K Bhaskara Rao (24) of Kancharapalem who are habitual offenders and N Satish Kumar (20) of Vivekananda Nagar for their alleged involvement in several burglary cases," said DCP (Crimes) T Ravi Kumar Murthy.
In another incident, police apprehended a three-member gang of burglars under Gajuwaka (Duvvada Zone) police station limits in the city. They are identified as Shaik Azeez (26), P Hemanth (21) and P Prasada Rao (35).
Police also nabbed Mohammad Jiya (27), a native of Bihar, his friend Mohammad Sohail (26) for circulating fake currency in various parts in the city.

Police seized counterfeit currency with face value of Rs 25,500, genuine currency worth Rs 20,000 besides two mobile phones them.
"Jiya had obtained fake currency from his childhood friend Bahul of Bihar. He, along with his accomplice Sohail who has been running a hand embroidery shop in Vizag, then started circulating the fake currency," the DCP said.
Police also netted two persons who are part of a gang for allegedly stealing 110 sewing machines and articles like generator, AC units and fans from a shop located at Gajuwaka area in the city.
The prime accused identified as BLV Srinivasa Rao was working as a security guard at the shop. He allegedly pulled off the threat with the help of his aides P Jayaram and Phaneedra Kumar.
Police recovered 62 machines and Rs 6 lakh in cash from the duo (Phaneendra Kumar is absconding), and a car.
