The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) has identified 3,125 acres of land which was under encroachment and managed to demarcate 2,750 acres, out of which 1,750 acres were now in possession and protection of the authority, Vice Chairman, JDA, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, said.
"To ensure that the work gets kick started this year, a tender of Rs 140 cr has been floated," Shavan said.
He said it was a historic day for the people of Jammu as their long pending demand is getting fulfilled.
However, he said due to technical reason, the bifurcation of DPR took a reasonable time and now the DPR for protection work and conservation part have been separately prepared.
