Tennis coach allegedly beaten up by policemen

A tennis coach today alleged that he was beaten up by some policemen when he refused to pay them Rs 500 as bribe after he failed to produce pollution control certificate of his motorbike.
Taking the allegation seriously, the Senior Superintendent of Police has ordered an enquiry and said action would be taken against the guilty policemen.
"SP City and DSP City (first) has been directed to conduct inquiry into tennis coach Santosh Jha's complaint. Action will be taken as per inquiry findings. Guilty policemen will be punished," said Preetinder Singh, SSP.
According to police, Santosh Kumar Jha, a tennis coach lives at Hoshiarpur in Noida and runs tennis coaching academy at Indirapuram.
Last night when he was returning home three policemen stopped and asked for papers of his bike.
He had shown all papers but as he was not having a pollution control certificate, they allegedly demanded bribe of Rs 500. He was later taken to police chowki and assaulted there.
