Tension grips Rajasthan's village after singer's death

Nearly 20 families of the Langa Manganiyar community in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district are living in temporary shelters after tension over the murder of a 45-year-old folk singer escalated, a police official said.
After the murder of folk singer Amad Khan on September 27 allegedly over his presentation of religious verses at a function at a local temple, villagers who belonged to the community refused to live in Dantal village.
A case was registered on October 2 at the Phalsoond police station, Superintendent of police Jaisalmer Gaurav Yadav said ruling out any communal angle in the incident.
He said on October 4, we have arrested prime accused and occultist Ramesh Suthar for allegedly killing the singer.

We have sent his viscera sample for examination to know the exact cause of death, Yadav said, adding more arrests are likely to be made in the case.
He said that the members of the Langa Manganiyar community had met the district collector on Monday who made their living arrangements in Jaisalmer.
