Terror alert still in place in Gujarat
Press Trust of India Ahmedabad Though the Maha Shivratri festival passed off without any incident yesterday amid the reports that terrorists may strike in Gujarat, the police and the National Security Guard (NSG) commandos are still on their toes.
DGP (IB&CID) Pramod Kumar said the high alert sounded three days ago was still in place.
"We have to see several aspects before saying that everything is OK. So the high alert is still in place. Police are still actively involved in finding out any suspicious person or activity," said Kumar.
A top official of the state Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) said four teams of NSG were still in the state.
NSG teams landed in Gujarat two days ago following an alert based on IB's input that some terrorists may have entered the state.
