Concerned over intelligence inputs of a possible terror strike at the Delhi High Court, the Chief Justice and others senior judges have requested the lawyers not to hold any large gathering in and around the complex.
The Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) was asked to postpone its Special General Body Meeting, which was scheduled for today, to a date after the Republic Day.
"In view of the intelligence input regarding grave security threat to DHCBA and in view of that fact that Delhi is under red alert these days, Chief Justice G Rohini and the other senior judges of the High Court had an emergent meeting expressing concern over the situation and desiring deferment of the Special General Body meeting convened by DHCBA to date after January 26, 2015.
"Security of the court is a matter of primary concern and cannot be compromised particularly due to the threat of a possible attack," an urgent and important notice issued by DHCBA said.
Enhanced security was also in place at places like India Gate and Red Fort while PCR vans were deployed at strategic locations.
On September 7, 2011, a blast at Gate No. 5 of the Delhi High Court killed 17 people and injured 76.
