Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya along with a 26-member delegation met Textiles Minister Santosh Gangwar today to highlight the situation of cotton farmers, specially in Telangana.
"Today a delegation comprising of 26 members from BJP, particularly from Warangal district, and myself met Textile Minister Santosh Gangwar. We apprised him of the situation of cotton farmers in Telangana.
"He has agreed to convene a meeting with the Ministers of Agriculture, Commerce, and myself. So four of us, we will sit and see that for the two months coming crop, how to get the remunerative price for cotton farmers. A policy will be evolved," Dattatreya told reporters here.
Among others, representatives from Adilabad, Khammam and Karimnagar also accompanied the delegation.

Dattatreya said Gangwar has agreed to setting up a textile park in Telangana, that is proposed to be in Warangal district.
Also, the Textile Minister has agreed for setting up of a separate cotton research centre in Telangana after being carved out of Andhra Pradesh, said the Labour Minister.
Gangwar has positively agreed to examine the setting up of cotton research centre at Warangal district and also a Cotton Corporation of India office in Telangana state.
Dattatreya said that the Textile Minister has requested to pursue with the state government to allocate land for the project. "Now the Telangana state government has to take appropriate and urgent measures," he said.
