"At Textron, Sial would be responsible for advancing the company's globalisation strategy in the region and managing its overall relationship with the Indian government and military services," the company said in a release.
"Sial has broad industry experience and a strong track record of executing programmes and building industrial partnerships," Textron Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Paul Mc Gartoll said.
Sial was earlier heading the India operations of Swedish group Saab.
Textron said at the Saab group, Sial was instrumental in establishing its industrial partnerships and JVs with various Indian industries.
Prior to his role at SAAB, Sial held a number of positions in the aerospace and defence trade arena, including country head of Sukab AB, from 1989 to 1993.
