A five-member panel, representing major exporters and leading brokers, evaluated the teas that are part of the competition.
Conceived by United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI) in collaboration with Tea Board of India, TGLIA is an annual event.
The event has generated intense competition among the six tea growing regions to produce better teas and 141 entries from 51 estates/companies have been received for this year's competition, TGLIA's organising committee convener V Unnikrishnan said in a statement.
The final tasting session is scheduled to be held in April 2015 in one of the upcountry markets along with buyer/seller meet, Unnikrishnan added.
