Thai melamine tableware maker plans 4 factories in India

Thailand-based melamine tableware maker Srithai Superware today announced commencement of operations in India with plans to set up four plants in the next 10 years at an investment of Rs 229 crore.
To start with, the company will set up a manufacturing plant with an initial investment of Rs 57 crore at Sanand in Gujarat that will commence operations in 2015.
Besides tapping the Indian market by even going into smaller cities and towns, the company also plans to export its products to neighbouring South-Asian countries, once the manufacturing unit is operational.
Commenting on the setting up of Indian operations, Srithai Superware PCL Chairman and President Sanan Angubolkul said: "Having a manufacturing unit in India, we are expecting exponential growth in the business, as customers can get the products faster and at better prices."
The company said as part of its growth strategy, it "intends to delve deeper into India's smaller cities and towns by having a varied price range to suit all pockets".
Srithai Superware sells its range of Melamine to 120 countries around the globe. It is also into manufacturing customised melamine products or supplying melamine products to global retail chains.
