The sextuplets, three boys and three girls, were born at Bumrungrad International Hospital about two months ago but appeared in public for the first time with their mother yesterday on the Rueng Lao Chao Nee morning news programme on Channel 3.
The six babies were named after their parents' favourite car brands: Audi (girl), Fortune (Toyota Fortuner) (girl), Porsche (boy), Mini (girl), Volks (boy) and Fiat (boy), Bangkok Post reported.
Hospital officials confirmed the sextuplets were the first born in Thailand, the programme said.
Nopporn, the father of the sextuplets, said all the babies were in good condition and were allowed to go home after two weeks in the hospital, except the fourth baby girl who is still under doctors' care because her weight has not met minimum criteria.
He said he had never expected the event because his wife previously faced pregnancy-related problems, even though the doctor had used fertility drugs to stimulate her ovaries to produce eggs. PTI
