Thai authorities plan to use 7,000 electronic angle bracelets to track petty crime convicts in 27 jurisdictions nationwide, an official has said.
On October 22, Probation Department chief Kannika Saengthong and Bangkok's Don Muang Court chief judge Dusit Phadungsak signed an agreement for IT system development so court orders could be submitted in electronic files to expedite the process.
She said this tech-savvy court model would later expand to other courts and agencies.
So far 257 convicts are on probation nationwide after being ordered to wear electronic angle bracelets -162 of whom were drunk driving offenders.
