Neeta Bhavesh Shah (54) locked herself in the bedroom of her house in Balkum area of the city around 8 AM. She then set herself on fire using kerosene, they said.
At the time of the incident, Neeta's family members, including her husband, son, daughter-in-law and grand children, were present at home.
When the family members saw smoke coming out of the bedroom, they alerted the police.
Firemen and police rushed to the house, broke open the bedroom door and recovered the charred body.
Sources said she had not been keeping well for sometime.
A case has been registered by Kapurbawdi police in this regard.
