THDCIL commissions 63 MW wind power project in Gujarat

State-run THDC India (THDCIL) has commissioned its second wind power project having capacity of 63 MW in Devbhumi Dwarka district in Gujarat.
Second wind power project of 63 MW capacity was commissioned in Devbhumi Dwarka on March 31, 2017, the company said in a statement today.
"The 63 MW wind power project awarded to Suzlon Energy Ltd on November 28, 2016 with scheduled commissioning period of 4 months was actually implemented and commissioned in a record period of 3 months after obtaining developer permission and transfer permission from Gujarat government in December 2016," it said.
According to the statement, in this wind project each Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) is of 2.1 MW capacity hybrid model with WTG height of 120 metres.
With the commissioning of this project, the THDCIL has become entitled to receive generation based incentive (GBI) of Rs 63 crore from the Centre.
It is a landmark achievement for THDCIL, whose installed generation capacity has now increased to 1,513 MW, it said
THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1,513 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000 MW), Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) and Wind Power Projects of 50 MW at Patan and 63 MW at Dwarka in Gujarat to its credit.
