Jordan Peele, who is basking in the glory of his hit horror-comedy "Get Out", which has been nominated for four Academy Awards, said his decision to quit acting came after he was offered "The Emoji Movie".
While accepting the DGA Award for best first-time director, Peele revealed that he was offered the role of the Poop character in "The Emoji Movie", which he thought was so "f**ked up" that he had to sleep on it.
"'The Emoji Movie' actually helped me quit acting. I was offered the role of Poop. This is true. I would not make this up," Peele told the audience.
Peele said he called up his manager next day to enquire about the role and the pay.
His manager replied, "'They've already given it to Sir Patrick Stewart.'"
Peele's acting credits include films such as "Keanu", "Wanderlust", "Little Fockers" and others.
For "Get Out", he received three Academy Award nods -- Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Original Screenplay -- at the 90th Academy Awards nominations.
The Oscars will be telecast live on Star Movies and Star Movies Select HD on March 5.
