Presented by theatre group Rangbhoomi, the drama festival "Rangotsav" which begins here on November 27 is an assortment of plays including "Samrat Ashok", written and directed by Daya Prakash Sinha, "Kissa Maujpur Ka" and "Hi! Handsome" written and directed by Jayvardhan and Chitra Singh respectively.
Organisers say each of the plays has "distinct storylines, shades, characters and messages put to portrayal." The lineup of directors is known for their multi-disciplinary contribution to theatre direction and playwright.
The opening play on November 27 is set to unveil nuances of a character named Samrat Ashok, who has an inferiority complex regarding his looks.
The festival finale "Hi! Handsome", set to be staged for the 55th time in Delhi and revolves around issues relating to the elderly.

"This year's Rangotsav is special as we have three different stories, cross-questioning people's viewpoints and evolving with time in order to bring about a bigger change in the society," says, J P Singh, Secretary, Rangbhoomi.
"At Rangbhoomi, we aim to bring forth issues and catch hold of the right audience with the right kind of depiction juxtaposed with brilliant talents in the theatre industry", he says.
Apart from Delhi, Rangbhoomi has performed its plays in various cities like, Chandigarh, Udaipur, Kurukshetra, Gwalior, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Rohtak, Allahabad, Hamirpur and Lucknow as well.
