A theft case accused today hurled human excreta at a magistrate when he was produced in the court in the district.
38-year old Paakiyaraj, arrested in the theft case, hurled the excreta, which he had brought in a plastic cover, at Sattur Judicial Magistrate-II Mariappan as soon as the latter adjourned the matter since the concerned Sub-Inspector was not present.
The action caused tension in the court hall with the excreta falling on the Magistrate and others near him.
Police said Paakiyaraj had been arrested by the Vembakottai Police on July 27, 2014 and was produced before the court for remand extension.
Police registered two more cases against him under IPC sections 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 355 (criminal force with intent to dishonour a person) and formally arrested him on the fresh charges after today's incident.
