The accused is facing allegations of committing theft in the locality. He had locked himself in his house. He was nabbed after a 12-hour long operation, a police official said.
"He also hurled stones and glass bottles from his house at the crowd and police. He had a paralytic mother in the house. This is why we refrained forced entry," Kendrapara police station Inspector Bijoy Kumar Bishi said.
The accused has been booked for attacking police on duty under IPC Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 506 (criminal intimidation), Bishi said.
