There should be no dearth of Chhath ghats: CM Kejriwal to officials

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today directed officers that there should be no dearth of ghats in the city for this year's Chhath Puja.

He said this during a review meeting on the preparedness of ghats for the Puja.

The meeting was attended by Burari MLA Sanjiv Jha and officials of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department.

Last year, Delhi had more than 600 Chhath Ghats and the these were well equipped.

"The chief minister said he wanted that there should be no dearth of ghats for the Puja and all proposals for ghats should be executed well in time," the government said in a statement.

It stated that the CM discussed various aspects of the Puja and the readiness of the IFC department on them.

He went through the list of the ghats ready and those under progress and would get ready by November for the Puja, the statement said.

The department submitted that they were well prepared and all the ghats would be ready in time for the Puja.
