"Shah Rukh endorses a lot of brands, does that mean if a brand snaps the deal with him he is not a superstar anymore?" a tongue-in-cheek Snehasish asked.

"This is professional cricket and perhaps Shah Rukh Khan felt Sourav did not fit into his scheme of things. That's fine. It was purely a business decision. And we don't mind that. Nobody, even Sourav, reacted in the family," he added.

Sourav-led Pune Warriors are up against KKR in an IPL match here today and the battle has assumed the hype of being the most important clash of the tournament, but the elder Ganguly said Sourav should just go and enjoy the cricket.

"Sourav has conquered mountains. This is not even an international match. I think he should just go and enjoy his cricket," Snehasish said. "This is nothing compared to the situations he has been in."

Sourav, who will turn 40 in July, has struggled with the bat in this year's IPL so far. Apart from his 46 run innings against Deccan Chargers at home, he has not looked the Ganguly of the past and Snehasish concedes the fact.

"It can't be denied that he isn't the same old Sourav. It's difficult to expect the same form that he showed a few years ago. That's not possible," he said.
