A robbery was reported at the residence of former Congress MLA Rajesh Jain in north Delhi's Malka Ganj area with items worth over Rs 2.5 lakh allegedly stolen by the thieves, police said.
According to police, the alleged robbery likely took place last night and was discovered this morning by the inmates of the house.
The former MLA told police that a couple of bags containing cash and other valuables were found to be missing from the house.
"It seems that the thieves entered the house through the kitchen window after 2:30 A.M. When the family was fast asleep," said a senior police official.
Police have registered a case of theft and opened a probe into the matter. Jain's servants and his neighbours have been questioned in connection with the case although police said that no clues have come their way yet.
