There was thin attendance in all government and private offices in Manipur today due to nation-wide strike by trade unions.
Most of the shops were open but the number of vehicles on the road was less.
The bandh had no impact on education institutions, which have been closed since the death of a student here in police firing during the agitation for implementation of inner line permit in the state on July 8.
State AITUC general secretary Sotinkumar Singh said trade unions like INTUC and CITU beside AITUC took part in the strike in Manipur during the day.
Trade union members staged sit-ins in 20 separate places in the state but there was no report of any untoward incident.
