'ThinkBig 2016' on women enterpreneurship from Nov 14

ThinkBig 2016, a two-day mega event focusing on Women Entrepreneurship organized by WEConnect International in association with Karnataka Government, will be held on November 14 and 15 here.
"The event will witness participation of more than 4,000 women entrepreneurs from various sectors," Industries Minister R V Deshpande told reporters here.
"Karnataka is synonymous with entrepreneurship and progress. I believe that this is an opportune moment for Karnataka to host ThinkBig 2016, in order to highlight both elements by focusing on women-owned businesses," Deshpande added.
The event aims at introducing women business owners to the public and private sector opportunities and encouraging corporations to build a buyer-customer base of women-owned businesses, Deshpande said.
The programme has been designed with a view to educating women entrepreneurs, train them with the right skills, assessopportunities and connect them with the business ecosystem,Deshpande said.
"The exciting line-up of activities at the event are aimed at enhancing the capacity of Women business owners and finding solutions to the challenges faced by them," he added.

Deshpande also launched the website and publicity material of ThinkBig 2016.
Additional Chief Secretary K Ratna Prabha said a number of government orders supporting women economic empowerment, such as reimbursement of the WEConnect certification fee and establishment of an exclusive women entrepreneurs park have been issued.
"I think closing the year with ThinkBig2016 will be a great platform to showcase Karnataka Government'sproactive approach and help pave the way for investmentopportunities in the state," she added.
The event is expected to bring together women business owners,multinational corporate buyers, government officials, multilateral and bilateral organisations, investors including banks, venture capitalists and private equity firms and industry thought leaders, Deshpande said. WEConnect International India Executive Director Parul Soni said, "The growth in the supply chain diversity budgets of WEConnect's corporate members has increased their ability to procure more from women-owned business, enhancing the global market value.
