"Almost 28 per cent of the work on the bridge has been completed. It will take another one-and-a-half years to complete it. We want it to be ready by March next year but we can consider that there can be one or two months delay," he told the state Assembly responding to a question put by BJP legislator Vishnu Surya Wagh.
The Chief Minister said work on the project is going on at a war footing.
"The entire stretch of the bridge and flyover is 4.5 kilometres which consists of 800 metres-long cable-stayed bridge," he said, adding that the bridge will divert 40 per cent of the traffic.
Parsekar said, "People will have to bear the traffic congestion positively as they will get better facility in days to come.
