The third edition of Cartist Yatra, will have 'sustainability' as its theme while travelling through seven cities of the country covering over 6,000 km in February-March next year, the initiative's founder said on Tuesday.
Cartist is a Jaipur-based organisation that works toward promoting cars and art, founded by Himanshu Jangid.
The yatra, a unique initiative of promoting automobile with art, will be inaugurated at the Auto Expo in Noida on February 7 where it will be stationed till February 12.
Art installations and a range of furniture made from scrap car parts will be showcased in the expo under the theme of sustainability, Jangid said.
He pointed out that the upcoming Cartist Yatra will be traversing 6,100 kilometres through seven cities of Greater Noida, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Ahmedabad before culminating at Jaipur over a period of 47 days.
"A number of activities, art workshops and competitions will be organised during each city visit. Around 1,000 artists will be participating in the entire event, he said.

During the yatra, the focus will be on promoting sustainable art and home decor products that can be made from spare parts of any discarded car, Jangid further said.
The aim of the yatra is to spread awareness on art and culture through the medium of automobile, he added.
Jangid informed that a mix of creative activities have been planned to promote automobile art at each of the yatra's venue. The yatra will have a 3-day stop-over in each city and each venue will have over 100 participating artists, six speakers in as many workshops, one art exhibition, live art installation and live car painting.
The yatra will have two trucks, carrying eight art cars, a towing car which will carry art installations, four cars, one bus, which will be painted by participating artists to promote the concept of sustainability, among other vehicles.
It will conclude in Jaipur between 27-29 March with a three-day long exhibition and art workshop, Jangid added.
