Third phase of service to be launched in Kozhikode on Jan 23

After its huge success since its launch in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, "She Taxi"-the 24x7 taxi service by women for women, is all set to be rolled out in Kozhikode on January 23.
The service is the very first off-campus initiative of 'The Gender Park', promoted by the Kerala State Social Justice Department.
The runaway success of the first and second phase of the 'She Taxi' launch in the cities of Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi prompted the launch of its third phase in the third biggest city of the state, Gender Park CEO and Kerala Women's Development Corporation Managing Director, P T M Sunish said in a press release today.

The launch of the service in Kollam, Patthanamthitta, Kotayam and Thrissur is in the pipeline, the release said.
Within 14 months of its inception, She Taxi services has become synonymous with travel safety and comfort and has become the most sought out option for female commuters. It also encourages entrepreneurship and self-employment among the women, it said.
The project has collaborated with Maruti Suzuki Ltd, for supplying the taxis and providing training to women drivers while the Kerala State Women's Development Corporation offers financial support for the entrepreneurs, it added.
