The train, which arrived yesterday, has been kept for technical testing at Virar Carshed before it is commissioned on WR's suburban section.
The rake left on July 16 from ICF in Chennai, where the Bombardier rakes are being manufactured and assembled, WR said in a release.
Two rakes of this category had been introduced on March 18, 2015 after being tested for 15 months since their arrival in October 2013.
These two trains could not be inducted for 15 months because of lack of approval from the Commissioner of Railway Safety who was not satisfied with a few specifications.
Under Phase-2 of MUTP, Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has signed an agreement with ICF for 72 rakes with electrical fittings supplied by Bombardier Transportation.
