Thirty CISF officials get Republic Day police medals

A total of 30 CISF officials have been decorated with the Presidents police medals for their distinguished and meritorious service on the eve of the 67th Republic Day.
The awardees of the meritorious medal include Assistant Inspector General (Operations) Dr Anil Pandey who joined the force in 1993 as a direct-entry officer.
Pandey, presently posted at the force headquarters here, has served at various locations of the force including the most challenging deployment of the Central Industrial Security Force for securing the NDMC mines area in Chhattisgarh's Naxal-affected Dantewada district.
Assistant Commandant U C Uniyal, currently posted as personal secretary to the CISF Director General, has been decorated with the same honour for rendering exceptional service since he joined the force in 1979.
He has served the paramilitary force in virtually all theatres of deployment for rendering administrative tasks.
Others decorated with the same honour include Senior Commandants Harpreet Kaur and S K Mohanka, posted at the headquarters and Mumbai international airport respectively.
The 1.48-lakh personnel strong CISF is tasked with securing major civil airports and vital installations in the nuclear and aerospace domain in the country amongst others.
