The card is a single load currency (USD) with zero cross currency conversion fees, Thomas Cook India Chief Operating Officer - Foreign Exchange and Head Visas, Mahesh Iyer said here.
"With exponential growth in multi-national travel, the need of the hour was clearly a single currency card, sans the downside of cross currency charges.
"The Thomas Cook One Currency Card, the first of its kind in India, brings Indian travellers a strong value proposition - zero currency conversion charges in a digital currency ecosystem," he said.
Iyer said as per the regulations, the maximum top allowed in the card is USD 10,000 and the minimum is as low as USD 100.
For this card, the company's main focus is first time travellers, especially those who carry cash, he said
"This card is an innovative solution and we are confident of it becoming the preferred prepaid travel card for overseas travellers in the near future," MasterCard Division President, South Asia, Porush Singh said.
