West Bengal Education minister Partha Chatterjee has asserted that those involved in vandalism in any college campus will not be spared, irrespective of party colour.
Expressing outrage over the ransack of college properties by some students, allegedly belonging to the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad, at South Kolkata Law College, Chatterjee said last night, "we will not spare those who are involved in any act of vandalism within the college campus, even if they flaunt the party flag. Nowhere we will tolerate such acts."
He said those named in the FIR by college authorities for ransacking properties will be arrested.
Chatterjee said Trinamool Congress Chhatro Parishad (TMCP) president Jaya Dutta has been asked to enquire into the matter and if necessary dissolve the unit in the college.
A senior official of the college said that a complaint was lodged at Gariahat police station.
A section of students ransacked the college properties on Friday afternoon alleging the authorities were charging steep fees.

The agitators broke chairs, notice boards and took off name plate of the Principal outside his office chamber.
"We have to pay Rs 21,500 while students of other law colleges have to pay around Rs 4,500," an agitating student said alleging the principal had never discussed the issue with students despite several reminders.
The college official, however, said the ransack was done by one of the two factions of the college students' union over sharing the sports fund.
