State Legislative Council Chairman Swami Goud appreciated the women of Telangana for their efforts to bring the traditional 'Bathukamma' (a floral festival) into limelight.
In a similar way, he said, women should make collective efforts towards the development of the state.
He appreciated the role of TRS MP K Kavita to get special recognition for the festival.
Kavita, daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, thanked the government for organising the festival on a grand scale, a state government release said.
