Threat of infiltration in present situation: Jammu Police

Apprehending threat of cross-border infiltration of militants in the present situation of repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan and the resulting dislocation of people, police today said security men have been deployed on all infiltration routes to foil any such attempt.
"In such a situation (ceasefire violations by Pakistan and dislocation of people), there is always a serious threat of infiltration," Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Rajesh Kumar told reporters here today.
The IGP said all routes used for infiltration have been secured by elaborate security measures to foil any such attempt.
"We have also asked the people of border belts to inform police about any suspicious movement that they see in their areas," he said.
Kumar today chaired a meeting of senior police officials at Zonal Police Headquarters here to review the arrangements being made for the National Police Day, celebrated throughout the country every year on October 21.
The IGP urged police officials to put in their best for ensuring adequate security arrangements for the day to acknowledge the sacrifices made by all martyr policemen.
The main function will be held at Gulshan Ground here and tributes will be paid by all senior officials at the Police Martyrs Memorial here.
