Three accused in atheist murder case sent to judicial custody

Three persons arrested in connection with the murder of a Dravida Viduthalai Kazhakam worker, Farooq, were today produced before a court here and remanded to judicial custody, police said.
Asrath, Saddam Hussain and Samshuddin were produced before the fifth Judicial Magistrate Court, after being questioned by the police for two days and remanded, they said.
While Asrath was remanded till March 28, other two were till April three.
The Judicial Magistrate court had on March 23 granted police the custody of the trio.
Meanwhile, CB-CID, investigating the case relating to the murder of Hindu Munnani functionary Sasikumar, moved the court seeking five days police custody of Syed Abu Dahir, arrested two days ago in connection with this case.

The petition is likely to come up for hearing in a day or two, police said.
