Three arrested for cheating people by promising jobs abroad

Shiv Kumar Saini and his associates Shiv Kumar and Fanni Malik were arrested from two different hotels in Pahar Ganj area in the national capital, police said today.

Based on a complaint, police raided a hotel in the area on Wednesday and apprehended Fanni Malik who revealed that he was working as an agent and lured unemployed youths on the pretext of sending them abroad on handsome salary.

He admiited that he was the front man of a big racket being operated by Shiv Kumar Saini and Shiv Kumar from their office at Una district in Himachal Pradesh, they claimed.

Malik's role was to lure unemployed innocent persons from rural areas on the pretext of sending them abroad and handover them to Shiv Kumar Saini.

"On the basis of secret information, accused Shiv Kumar Saini and Shiv Kumar were apprehended by the police team from a hotel in the same area," a senior police official said.

During probe, Saini said he also lured by an agent who sent him to Dubai on a tourist visa and he did not get a job and had come back to India.

He them made his own group and started cheating people by using the same modus operandi. He engaged a number of agents from all over the country who used to bring innocent persons to him.

"These agents were given handsome commission. The accused used to interview the candidate(s), get an application form filled by them and thereafter their medical examination was one at a reputed clinic of Delhi. After this, a part of the payment was made.

"Later, on the pretext of getting the paper work done for the visa, the accused would frequently change his base to remain undetected. The accused have collected several lakh through this modus-operandi," the official said.
