The Ttrio Ataulla Rehman, 25, Namanuddin 22, and Manish Shukla, 18, killed the driver Vinay, 27, a native of Bulandshahar in UP, while riding in his cab from Mahipalpur to Lajpatnagar on the intervening night of July 5-6.
Ataulla who is kingpin of the gang was involved in a kidnapping-cum-ransom case of Gujarat in 2011 and was absconding since he jumped bail in the case, said RA Sanjeev, DCP of South West Delhi police.
Numanuddin and Ataulla were arrested by police on specific input from Kheda Park, Om Vihar in Uttam Nagar. On the information provided by them Manish was arrested and the taxi they had looted after killing Vinay was also recovered.
