Three awarded death sentence for murder

A court today awarded death sentence to three persons for killing the son of a businessman on July 15, 2011 in Karbi Anglong district.
Describing the murder as rarest of the rare, Morigaon District and Session Judge Ikramul Hussain ordered Mohan Teron, Sanjay Chandra and Bhim Das to be hanged until death under Section 302/34 of IPC.
Arup Dutta, son of Apu Dutta a businessman of Jagiraod town of Morigaon district, was kidnapped by Mohan Teron, Sanjay Chandra and Bhim Das from Jagiroad town on July 1, 2011.
On July 17, 2011 Sanjay Chandra and Bhim Das, through a phone call, demanded Rs 40 lakh as ransom to release Arup (21). He was killed two days after his abduction.
Apu Dutta had filed an FIR in Jagiraod police station and police after investigation recovered the bones and skull of the deceased in Amguri Hill a month after the incident.
