Three booked for duping man by promising army job

A man and his two sons have been booked here for allegedly duping a man of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of getting him a job with the army.
"We have registered a case against Rattan Lal and his two sons Rakesh Kumar and Narinder Kumar for cheating the complainant of more than Rs 12.70 lakh," a Crime Branch officer said.
He said Rattan Lal had even arranged a forged interview call letter for the complainant.
"The complainant informed us that the accused had promised him job of a clerk with the army. He even arranged a forged interview call letter for him," he said.
The officer said when the complainant went to attend the interview, he was told by the army that no such vacancy ever existed and that no interview call letter was issued.
"On receipt of the complaint, an enquiry was initiated in the Crime Branch of Jammu. During investigation, it was found that the accused had duped the complainant of Rs 12.70 lakh. A case was registered in this regard," he said.
