Three burnt bodies of unidentified women were today found in the restive northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan.
The women, aged between 18 to 22, were not local residents and it appeared that the women were murdered somewhere else and their bodies were later set on fire to hide their identity, police said.
The bodies were recovered in Tehkal area of Peshawar district.
The police reached the spot and registered a case pertaining to murder against unknown persons.
The police said the bodies were found by the villagers who called the police. They were burnt badly, due to which it was difficult to identify them, police said.
"Nothing could be ascertained from the initial investigation," said police, adding the initial report, however, show that there were no torture marks on the bodies.
According to eyewitness, the bodies of two women were completely unrecognisable while the face of one body was partially recognisable.
