The three CNG-based cremation grounds are to be set up at Subhash Nagar, Dwarka sector IV and Green Park Extension.
"In view of the rising pollution in the city, three CNG-based cremation grounds have been proposed this year. Work on Subhash Nagar facility is expected to begin this year.
"For the rest two palaces, financial and administrative nods have been given and tendering work will be finished by this year," South Delhi Municipal Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goel said today.
Goel was presenting the SDMC's revised budget estimates for 2016-17 and budget estimates for the year 2017-18 at the Civic Centre here.

The commissioner also said an MOU with PTC India for a 3MW solar Energy Plant at 15 acres of land at Ghummanhera village under Najafgarh Zone, is under consideration.
"An SPV will be set up jointly by SDMC and PTC India wherein both parties will have 50-50 partnership. The expected solar energy generation per year will be 43.80 lakh units. The total cost of this project will be recovered within eight years. The detailed expenditure assessment is being prepared," he said.
As per a survey recently conducted by Humane Society International, the number of stray dogs in south Delhi has been pegged at 1,89,285. Of these 40.3 per cent males and 27.8 per cent females have been sterilised.
"According to the survey, the number of dogs found in the four zones are -- 32,216 in central, 29,952 in Najafgarh, 59,435 in south, and 67,682 in west," he said.
