Three commit suicide, two others battling for life

Three persons committed suicide, while two others were battling for life in separate incidents in Bihar's Begusarai and Vaishali districts, police officers said.
A woman and her three daughters consumed some poisonous substance in a bid to commit suicide in Khajahanpur village in Begusarai district, town police station in-charge Md Islam said.
The woman Parvati Devi (50) and her youngest daughter Arti Kumari (10) died during treatment at Sadar hospital, he said, adding two other girls Sangita Kumari (17) and Savita Kumar (14) were battling for life in the same hospital.
The woman took the extreme state due to frequent quarrel in the family, Islam said quoting family members.

In a related incident in Vaishali district, a 22-year-old man Santosh Kumar committed suicide in Rupitpur village by hanging himself from a tree, Mahnar police station in-charge Arun Paswan said, adding the body has been sent for post-mortem.
The youth took the extreme step over a land dispute, the police officer said.
