Three criminals arrested, murder weapon seized

Three criminals were today arrested from Sheohar and Sitamarhi districts of Bihar and arms used in the murder of two engineers in neighbouring Darbhanga district last year were seized from them.
Acting on inputs received from one Mukesh Pathak during his interrogation following his arrest in the double murder case of engineers in Darbhanga district late last year, a Special Task Force (STF) team raided Dostiya village in Sheohar district and nabbed dreaded gangster Santosh Jha's counsin Sanjay Jha and seized an AK-56 and 25 rounds ammunition, Superintendent of Police Prakash Nath Jha said.
The said AK-56 was used in the murder of the engineers Brajesh Kumar and Mukesh Kumar late last year, he said.

The STF personnel also arrested Vijay Jha from Punaura village in Sitamarhi district and Aditya Tiwari from Piprahi village in Sheohar district, Jha said.
All the three persons were members of Mukesh Pathak gang and used to commit various crimes at his behest, the SP said.
Two engineers of a private road construction company were gunned down by unidentified assailants at Kusheshwarsthan in Darbhanga district on December 26 last after the company had failed to pay levy demanded by the Bihar People's Liberation Army, a criminal group being run by Santosh Jha and Mukesh Pathak.
Mukesh Pathak was arrested from a train in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand last week.
