The incident occurred near Vemulapally in the district early this morning and it appears that auto rickshaw driver lost control and the vehicle fell into Nagarjunasagar canal, said DSP Sandeep G, Miryalgua Sub-Division.
"As per preliminary information, the mishap occurred due to negligence of the driver," he said.
The deceased were aged between 23 to 38 years, he said.
The vehicle and bodies have been fished out, Sandeep added.
