Three die of diarrhoea in Balasore district
Press Trust of India Balasore (Odisha) At least 3 persons died due to suspected diarrhoea and 30 others were affected by the desease in tribal areas of Oupada and Soro in Odisha's Balasore district in last two days, officials said today.
In Aguan Sahi, a tribal hamlet of Aghirapada village in Oupada block a 14-year-old girl died July 6, while two persons aged around 60-65 years died in Soro hospital yesterday, they said.
Medical team had been sent to the affected areas and the exact reason of the death would be ascertained after getting their report, said Dr Bhabani Sankar Pani, Chief District Medical Officer, Balasore.
He said the situation is under control. A team of health officials from nearby Iswarpur health centre had visited the area. Contaminated food and water is the main source of the disease, said a hospital official in Soro.
Some patients have been admitted to Soro hospital and three shifted to Balasore hospital.
