Three boys, two of them brothers, aged 13-15, drowned in a river when they tried to grab a floating coconut.
Amal Krishnan (15), his brother Athul Krishnan (13) and a friend Hafiz (13) had gone to the river for a bath this afternoon when the mishap occurred, police said.
The water level in the river had risen due to the overnight rains.
Though the children were immediately rushed to the hospital, they could not be saved.
