The trio, kept in the lock-up at Chandvad Police Station, about 70km from here, managed to cut the iron bars of their cell and escaped after midnight last night, they said.
In further embarrassment for the police, they stole a cop's motorcycle parked outside the police station and fled from the spot, they said.
The three - Ashraf Hamid Shaikh (22), Sarfraj Gulam Choudhari (20) and Khurshid Hamid Shaikh (24) - were arrested on charges of theft and house break-in.
Police have launched a search for them.
