Three foreign women were arrested by the Goa police for allegedly living in the coastal state without valid passports and visas, police said here on Thursday.
Goa crime branch on Wednesday arrested two Tanzanian nationals Hawa Ibrahim Kulwa (33), Faidha Khassim Mijae (35), and Kenyan Norah Vugutma Amadi (34) for overstaying in the state, inspector Jivva Dalvi said.
Acting on a tip-off from the foreigner regional registration office (FRRO) here, the crime branch team raided an apartment on Vagatore beach belt in North Goa, and nabbed the three women.
"The three foreign nationals have failed to furnish their passports and visas," Dalvi said.
The trio is currently lodged in the FRRO's detention centre in Mapusa town, he said, adding that if the women fail to produce their documents, they will be charged under the Foreigners Act, 1946.
